It seems that some of the Playaz want me to blog about the controversy revolving around Michael Jacksons death but I’m not gonna do that. Instead, I’ll do you one better – I’ll give you a little piece of myself because I can relate to everything that’s going on right now with the Jackson’s. It’s just not right to plaster the man’s face and name all over this site – it’s just not the right platform.

In 2000 my father was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. For many years he had a drug problem which probably contributed to his condition and he did not see any reason to stop after he was diagnosed. At the time he was going to the VA hospital to get treatment due to the fact that he was retired and had no insurance of his own. If you don’t know anything about military veterans and the VA hospital let me paint you a picture – if you are terribly ill and you are a VA patient there you are pretty much signing your own death certificate. Needless to say, anytime my dad showed up for treatment they would prescribe him steroids as a means of controlling his shortness of breath. Also, in his case the steroids had huge side effects, his heart became enlarged and he gained a massive amount of weight.

I lost my dad in 2001 and the first thing that came to mind was – did the VA hospital do enough to save my dad? Did they kill him? My dad was sick for a long time – he was diagnosed in 2000 but the sickness could have been there for years. Did he take care of himself – absolutely not. After a car accident, he could barely walk. His diet was shit and he was in poor physical condition. No one could tell my dad shit – especially about keeping of the drugs and staying healthy. Doctors can only do so much, even if they care. You really have to help yourself by following a doctors instructions to the letter in order to have a chance.

Michael’s physician is shitting his fucking pants right know because his client happened to be the most recognized person on the planet. I would fucking hide too. Look at it this way, Michael’s been sick – A LOT – and for while. For however long, who fucking knows. His weight was never good and when he did concerts it was very taxing on his body, even when he was younger. Drugs? – maybe but that’s beside the point. The man was sickly – his physician was there to give him what he needed. Could it have been to much or to little, maybe, but maybe Michael didn’t help himself out too much either.

I could go on about this but do you see what I mean? The only difference between my situation and the Jackson’s is that I didn’t have the media circus. The “King of Pop” has always been the “King of Controversy” too. For the media, somebody has to be the sacrificial lamb – and the’re gonna get him.

Instead of paying attention to all this bullshit take some time to remember a legend. Put on a few songs and just let the music sink in. I’m and “old school” kat, I grew up listening to Michael. Bought all his albums – had posters – the glove – did all his moves at the high school dances – all that shit. Those were good times – my heart goes out to the Jackson’s and to all those who have lost someone. It’s hard but always remember them because they now live through you.

First off I wanna say that the recent turn of events with the death of Farrah Faccett and Michael Jackson, my heart is truely saddend. Both were true pioneers of their professions and will be missed for sure.
